Bill’s What Shows to Watch This Wrestlemania Weekend

So this may be a little late especially considering there is already a significant percentage of you already on flight to Dallas as I write this.  You already have your itinerary set, from Wednesday of this week,  all the way through your early morning flight next Monday.  Depending on who you’re hitting Dallas with you might be keeping a strict schedule in order make sure you get to every show, event, and con you already got your tickets for.  Or you’re literally running on a libertine schedule full of chance, and chaos. Letting Dallas/Fort Worth lead your wandering soul to a weekend of untold wrestling fortune.  This however, is not for either one of you transcontinental travelers.  This is for those like me who have to experience the weekend vicariously through either a television, computer, or cellphone screen.

You see, I am afraid of leaving my house let alone my city, county, or state.  I have been paralyzed with fear of the unknown (practically everything now) from the ripe old age of 10. Mass media has won. With acknowledging this particular brand of insanity, I decided that it is only right to make a Google Sheet of all of the events I could come up with happening during Wrestlemania Weekend. Boy do I love a good spreadsheet. The spreadsheet itself covers everything I could find happening in the DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth, for those who are not as well versed in the depths of Texas as I am) Area from Thursday, March 31st to Sunday April 3rd.  In complete honesty I made most of it the weekend before so it’s not the most up to date, as far as the cards are concerned as they are constantly changing. Thanks Joey Janela.

So I have given you, a wayward wrestling streaming freak such as myself, a tool.  Just like a saw or a pen one must be taught how to use this tool before truly mastering it. It’s a spreadsheet, it works like every spreadsheet. There you got it. But before you go forth I still would like to guide you to some possible hidden shows that really grabbed my attention while making this monstrosity. So in chronological order of show, here are some of the shows I’m looking forward to this weekend:

  • Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8– Thursday March 31st, 3PM Central Time
    • Why?: Bloodsport is a Wrestlemania Weekend tradition, and this card is amazing. Mox/Biff Busick, Suzuki/ Chris Dickinson, Barnett/JONAH, Masha Slamovich/Janai Kai, Royce Issacs/Bad Luck Tito, Yuya Uemura/Mike Bailey, plus a handful more, all wrestling “shoot” style without ropes just has beautiful feel to it
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Collective 2022 Bundle on Fite Network
  • Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 Part 1– Thursday March 31st, 8PM Central Time
    • Why?: Of the two Spring Breaks this year this is the more serious of the two. Mox/AJ Gray for the GCW Title, Allie Katch/Mickie James, Blake Christian/AR Fox and Janela/X-Pac are worth the price of admission.
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Collective 2022 Bundle on Fite Network
  • Mark Hitchock Memoiral SuperShow– Thursday March 31st, 9PM Central Time
    • Why?: Extremely excited for Biff Busick this year, and him versus Minoru Suzuki can be amazing. Add Bandido/Mike Bailey, Mia Tim/Athena, Briscoes, Ishii and more you got yourself a show.
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Fite Fest WrestleCon Bundle on Fite Network
    • Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8– Thursday March 31st, 3PM Central Time

  • Zicky Dices’ Trouble in Paradise 2– Friday April 1st, 1PM Central Time
    • Why?: I feel the same about Lince Dorado as I do about Biff, and him against Black Taurus could be a match of the weekend.  Oh and Masha Slamovich is supposed to wrestle a bear.
    • How To Watch: FREE Show twitch.tv/zickydice
  • NJPW LoneStar Shootout- Friday April 1st, 5PM Central Time
    • Why?: The more I keep looking at this card the better it is. If you haven’t watched any NJPW Strong this will be a great way to get introduced. Everyone from Strong as well as NJPW favorites Suzuki, Ishii, Jay White, and Rocky Romero
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Fite Fest WrestleCon Bundle on Fite Network
  • ROH Supercard of Honor 2022– Friday April 1st, 7PM Central Time
    • Why?: Considering most of this card was thrown together within the last week its going to be a great show to transition into the next iteration of the promotion. Bandido/Gresham is killer, and Briscoes/FTR is a dream match.
    • How To Watch: Fite Network
  • GCW Gringo Loco’s The Wrld on Lucha– Friday April 1st, 7:30PM Central Time
    • Why?: Gringo Loco brings out a loaded lucha card with the likes of Demonic Flamita, Laredo Kid, Pagano, Psicosis, Psycho Clown, Dr. Wagner Jr, Tony Deppen, AR Fox and a ton more.  This is possibly the best lucha show of the weekend.
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Collective 2022 Bundle on Fite Network
  • Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 Part 2– Saturday April 2nd 12AM Central Time
    • Why?: If Part 1 is Janela’s serious night, thai is certainly the night of goofs as Spring Break is known. Suzuki/Effy, Bailey/PCO, the return of the Invisible Man, and the Greatest Clusterfuck Battle Royal are all something to see.
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Collective 2022 Bundle on Fite Network
  • Effy’s Big Gay Brunch– Saturday April 2nd 11AM Central Time
    • Why?: Effy shows up once again this time against legendary Exotico Pimpinela Escarlata.  Also Dark Sheik/Parrow and Max the Impaler/Edith Surreal should both be excellent matches.
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Collective 2022 Bundle on Fite Network
  • Mission Pro Wrestling Bangerz Only– Saturday April 2nd 3PM Central Time
    • Why?: WIth no disrespect to other all women’s shows in Dallas this weekend, this is the loaded women’s cards featuring many in the local Texas scene. Thunder Rosa/Trish Adora with matches including LuFisto, Allie Katch, Masha Slamovich, Janai Kai, Holidead and more.
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Collective 2022 Bundle on Fite Network
  • Lucha Maniaks Not Your Average Lucha Show– Saturday April 2nd 8PM Central Time
    • Why?: This is certainly a show that can rival Gringo Loco’s GCW show the day before.  On the card they have Loco, Black Taurus, ACH, Lince, Tony Deppon, Aramis, and a ton more stars.
    • How To Watch: TitleMatch Wrestling Network
  • Black Label Pro Norm– Sunday April 3rd, 12AM Central Time
    • Why?: This a great way to finish up GCW’s Collective weekend.  This card features the Work Horsemen (a new favorite for myself), Jake Something, PCO, Effy, Blake Christian (another new favorite), Black Taurus, Tom Lawlor, Levi Everett, Shazza McKenzie, Billie Starks, Warhorse and Big Damo.  That is loaded.
    • How To Watch: Fite Network, or The Collective 2022 Bundle on Fite Network
  • VIP Wrestling TexasMania III- Sunday April 3rd, 12AM Central Time
    • Why?: Last show of the weekend, but it doesn’t disappoint in the slightest. Suzuki makes another appearance as well as Gringo Loco.  But this card also features Matt Cross/Ninja Mack, and Shane Taylor/Low Ki(?)
    • How To Watch:TitleMatch Wrestling Network

Keep in mind these are just the shows that I am most excited for.  Will I watch them all, no not all, but I’m planning on giving it the old college try to get a couple of them in.  If you are taking my advice, I would highly look into Fite Network’s The Collective 2022 Bundle. Again take a look at the Google Sheet and find something that might grab you.
